Any idea how much hp you're making?
I wish I did but I didn't get a dyno or anything. They have the claim sheet on the site for each flash. By feel, it pulls much more like my old wrx. Power band feels to ramp up faster when accelerating and drives more aggressively in my opinion. Don't know if their claimed numbers are accurate but the shape of the power band is in line with what I feel.

I'd be happy to get some number is anyone wants to sponsor my dyno time.

ECU only, or did you get the TCU as well?

I'm not looking for a raging sports car but some more grunt seems like a good thing.

I just did the standard ECU flash. Still as happy with it as when I first posted. Going on 5k miles since the flash.

Correction, I think it was the APR setup that had multi-stages.

I'll assume it's safe to say that the upgrade negates the warrant nilly?

Some dealers claim that be more friendly about mods but my expectations are I'm on my own for any issues and will be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong. Flash is against TOS for warranty.

No but I have a RaceChip Ulitmate installed in my '18 Alltrack with Bluetooth connectivity and it's awesome. Best piggy back module available imo.

Thinking about doing APR on my 2017 Alltrak 6MT! :D

They have a flash that is compliant with 87 octane and still adds 60hp

Neuspeed has this offering but I seem to remember finding a multi stage setup for under a grand and the stage 2 looked really nice (higher numbers than this one).
http://www.neuspeed.com/641015-neuspeed-power-module.html
I am/was interested in the Neuspeed because they say it won't show up when dealers hook up to their equipment (if it's disconnected I think) it's not as aggressive as the others I've seen but I'm not into all out speed either but 30hp and 55ft/lbs of torque ain't bad for $400

That's what known as a piggy back tune. It just plugs into a few sensors and hijacks the data. Tricking the factory computer into making more power.

Another option for that is Burger Motorsports, they have the JB1/JB4 system which is very similar. Also can be removed without the dealer ever knowing it was there.

Yes you are correct, piggy back is the way to go if you want to retain factory warranty on the car as these can just be unplugged and are undetectable by the dealer. Brands are Racechip, Berger Motorsports, Neuspeed, Dinan all make piggy backs. The thing I like most about the Racechip is that it is developed in manufactured in Germany and feature BT connectivity to be able to switch from stock to whatever power mode you desire on the fly from your smartphone!

Which option on their site did you go with? I kinda like the idea of this.

Is there a map that allows you to use non premium fuel?

https://www.racechip.us/shop/vw/golf-vii-from-2012.html
I have the "ultimate" version for Golf 7 (2012 and up) 1.8T 170hp. They don't provide a part number unfortunately.

I believe to get the most HP increase it is recommended to use 91 or higher octane fuel like all the other tunes out there.
